Well, first I just took the picture with my camera, and then I downloaded a free HDR program, and it goes step by step on how to use it. Basically you take your original pic, one that has lower contrast/brightness, one that has higher contrast/brightness and it combines them, to your desired effect. I forget the name of the free program that I used though, it was on a different computer, but I'm sure you can find some out there.
